Ava Boisclair
Makayla Baker is 26 years old and was born in Kissimmee, Florida. She lived in St. Cloud, Florida until she was 9 years old and then moved to Williston, Florida where she lived until she graduated high school at 18, so she is equally an Osceola County and a Levy County native. Makayla graduated from The University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in theatre and plans on returning to school to pursue a Master’s in Business Administration. Although Makayla’s rodeo queening history is short – her first and only title being Miss Rodeo Palm Beach County 2020/2021 – she has both extensive pageant and rodeo history. She won the Baby Show at the Silver Spurs three years in a row at the ages of two, three, and four. She was the first Jr. Miss Williston in 2006-07, and Miss Williston 2011-12. Makayla has a history deeply rooted in western culture. She was raised on the 6,000-acre E. L. Partin Ranch in Osceola County, Florida. She learned how to crack a cow whip at the age of four and, by the age of five, she was chasing cows through the swamps on horseback. As for her rodeo history, her father, Jamie Baker, spear-headed the Williston Ranch Rodeo as an annual fundraiser for the Williston High School football team and the first meeting of the Silver Spurs Riding Club was held at her great-grandparents Geech and Connie Partin’s house. The Silver Spurs Riding Club would turn into The Silver Spurs Rodeo, the largest rodeo east of the Mississippi. She rode in the Jr. quadrille as a child, and carried the American Flag and took charge of the music at the Williston Ranch Rodeo throughout her high school years. In her free time, Makayla enjoys reading, watching The Office, kayaking, going to theme parks and beaches, and sewing and tooling handmade leather goods. Makayla is very excited to get back to her roots and represent the State of Florida and the sport of rodeo throughout the year. Her goal is to bring in new fans and to instill her love of western culture and the sport of rodeo into the hearts of any person who will listen.
Heaven Crosby is 18 years old and resides in Ocala, Florida. She currently attends North Marion Highschool as a senior and plans on attending Florida Sate University to become a registered nurse. She has been learning and prepping for her career as a nursing assistant at Community Family Health Care in her hometown. She also is an entrepreneur and started her own small business in 2020 where she makes and designs car fresheners and candles. In her free time, she enjoys riding horses and has learned new disciplines such as reigning, obstacle work and English riding. She also enjoys fishing and the Florida beaches with her siblings and friends. She has held the 2015 Miss rodeo Florida Sweetheart and 2018 Miss Rodeo Florida Princess titles and has loved every opportunity the two state titles have brought her to. Which makes for an even more exciting year as your 2022 Miss Teen Rodeo Florida. Heaven’s favorite bible quote and the one she lives by is Micah 6:8 “To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly.”
