Miss Rodeo FL 2015 Sheila Shirah and Lady in Waiting Kelly Steinruck at the Citrus Stampede Rodeo in Inverness. Kelly is wearing her beautiful Rhinestone Lipgloss earrings, one of many prizes she received as part of her prize package.
Sheila is the 20 year old daughter of Tim and Beth Shirah from St. Cloud. As a member of a seven generation Central Florida ranching family and a descendant of the founders of the Silver Spurs Rodeo, she has always been aware and proud of the strong ranching and rodeo presence here in the Sunshine State. This rich family heritage led her to her first rodeo queen title of Little Miss Silver Spurs. In 2009 she won the title of Miss Teen Rodeo Florida, and in 2011 she represented the Silver Spurs Rodeo again as Miss Silver Spurs. Along with winning the title of Miss Rodeo Florida this past September, she also won the categories of Horsemanship, Photogenic, Miss Congeniality, Scrapbook, Personality, and Appearance.
Sheila is a 2012 graduate of Harmony High School, and is now attending Eastern Florida State College. Upon obtaining her Associate of Arts degree she will transfer to the University of Florida to finish out her degree in Public Relations. Throughout her high school career she played a wide variety of sports, including soccer, volleyball, track, swimming, flag football, and weightlifting. In FFA she served as both the chapter Secretary and Vice President, as well as holding the office of Senior Class Representative for the student government. Sheila was a 4H member from Kindergarten through 12th grade, where she started off showing chickens, citrus trees, and photography, and then eight market steers.
She also loves competing in ranch rodeos and enjoys showing her AQHA registered cutting horse, One Spoonful of Tivi. Sheila is a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, the National Cutting Horse Association, and the Florida Cutting Horse Association. Whenever she might have some free time, you will probably find her either in the woods or on the water somewhere. She loves hunting, fishing, jet skiing, working cows, running, going on the boat, taking spontaneous road trips, watching the Florida Gators play football, and finding new adventures to experience.
Being Miss Rodeo Florida has been a lifelong goal of Sheila's, and she couldn't be any more proud or excited to represent the Great State of Florida while promoting its rich ranching and rodeo heritage. She is looking forward to spreading her passion and knowledge on to people all across the nation, to remind them that Florida is not only home to the first true cattlemen in the nation, but is also home to some of the toughest cowboys as well.
