Miss Rodeo Florida Pageant 2009!

The Miss Rodeo Florida Association is proud to announce the new 2009 Floridian Royalty.  On September 11-14, 2008 the pageant was held at the beautiful newly remodeled Clarion Waterpark and Resort in Kissimmee Florida, where we honored our current Queens, Miss Rodeo Florida 2008 Sydnye Weber, Miss Teen Rodeo Florida 2008 Erica Lassiter, MRF Princess Alison Jowers and MRF Sweetheart Carrie Ann Clements.  Sydnye Weber is currently preparing to represent our state at the Miss Rodeo America Pageant in Las Vegas Nevada, this Nov. 29 - Dec. 6, 2008.

The divisions for our pageant were for four age categories: Miss Rodeo Florida 19-25 years old, Miss Teen Rodeo Florida 13-18 years old, Princess 10-12 years old, and Sweethearts 7-9 years old.  All ages were judged on Poise, Personality, Appearance, Photogenic, Interview Skills, and Speech.  While the Miss and Teen divisions had added areas of Current Events, Rodeo and Equine Knowledge, Horsemanship Riding skills and Horsemanship Interviews.

This pageant is open to all Florida residents who qualify for their age groups.  Our local Association members were pleased to see that out of 12 contestants, 10 were from Osceola County and two were a past Miss Silver Spurs Queen and a past Little Miss Silver Spurs Queen.

All of the four new queens are from Osceola County and have already begun planning for their Coronation and Fund Raisers.  They are looking  forward to everyone’s support as they are Crowned in January 2009.  These fund raising events will help finance their journey as they travel to rodeo's and events within and possibly out of state.  Their primary job will be promoting agriculture in Florida, our states western heritage and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, which is the extreme sport of rodeo.

The pageant was a grand success and everyone involved had a wonderful time.  All the contestants were fun, beautiful, did a wonderful job in the competition and made us all proud.  Your new 2009 queens will be an asset to our State and we looked forward to seeing how they use their new roles in our community.
